CUSTODIANSHIP DECLARATION
Guardian statement in the application for admission
Minors applying for a school pass usually require a guardian’s statement. When the applicant continues to sign the size, if the applicant is not yet an adult, it is necessary to provide a guardian’s statement.
Key Points
Because the child’s legal guardian (usually a parent) is not in Canada, it is necessary for the parent to designate a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to take care of the child, usually to handle some emergencies and provide the necessary assistance. Let’s refine it:
- The guardian must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- The guardian cannot be far from the child and the school (reasonable distance);
- The guardian only provides the necessary arrangements and handles urgent matters.
For example, some documents that need to be signed by the parents can be signed by the guardian, and the guardian is not obliged to take charge of the students’ study.
Exception
Parents who don’t accompany a student in Canada may not have a guardian’s statement. but
- Even if the parents are accompanied, they usually apply for the accompanying visit visa after they have signed the exam (this will increase the probability of signing the visa), so usually the first visa for the minor needs to be done (even if it is temporary).
- Because parents can only stay for half a year with a visit visa, so even if the parents have a Canadian visa before the student visa, in order to avoid the visa officer suspecting that the parents have not returned for a long time, it is best to arrange a guardian to declare unnecessary troubles.
How to define minors
Each province in Canada has a different definition of minors, specifically under 18 years of age and in schools in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec or Saskatchewan Guardianship statements are required in the province, or under the age of 19 and in a school in BC, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut or Yukon Territory.
The age is based on the time of study. For example, when the child is a visa, the adult is not yet adult, but it is expected to be an adult when starting school.

Notary Method
The first page of the guardian’s form needs to be filled out and printed. The Canadian guardian will sign the notary publicly in Canada’s notary public (Notary Public). Usually, the law firm, the municipal government, etc. have the qualification of Notary Public.
The second page of the guardian’s form needs to be filled out and printed. The legal guardian (usually the parent) of the student is notarized in the notarization office in and English. Some notaries need to translate the form before they can be notarized.
Just do a notarization, return after the visa, it is recommended to scan the archive (renewable may also be used).
The notarization has no validity period, and subsequent renewals can be used all the time.
