VISITOR VISA

Visitor visa can be mailed or submitted in person through the Visa Center or online. If you apply online, the list will be slightly different from the table below.

List of documents to submit

  • Temporary Resident Visa Application Form (IMM 5257).
  • Family member information form (IMM 5707).
  • Education and employment details table.
  • Two photos that match the photo requirements. Name and date of birth are indicated after each photo.
  • A valid passport. The passport must contain at least one full page of blank pages except the last page and must be valid for at least six months prior to the trip.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 are requested to submit a parental consent letter from their accompanying parent who agrees to their travel, which should include information such as the applicant’s travel date and their parental contact details.
  • If you are employed, use the original letter of the letter with the company’s letterhead and signed by the employer, and include the following information:
    the applicant’s name, position, current income and date of commencement; and the full name and address of the employer, as well as telephone and fax numbers.
  • If retired, state the retirement certificate of the applicant’s pension.
  • If the applicant is a student and travels during a non-school holiday, an original letter from the school confirming his/her read and good performance and agreeing to his absence.
  • Original bank documents (such as deposit certificates, passbooks, etc.) showing the financial history of the past few months.
  • Proof of assets (such as original real estate certificate, original vehicle registration certificate, etc.).
  • Proof of all past travel (eg passport, etc.).
  • The full name and address of all agents who assist the applicant in arranging the itinerary (whether in the country or Canada, if applicable).
  • Detailed travel itinerary.

Entry and exit times and validity period

A multiple-entry visa is usually issued, and the visa is valid until the passport expires, up to a maximum of 10 years.

You can usually stay for half a year for each entry. If you have not enough time for half a year, you can apply for an extension.
