SHORTAGE OF PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYER GUARANTEES
On August 16, 2017, Ontario launched a shortage of professional employers to sponsor immigrants.
Career List
This category requires permanent full-time jobs in the agricultural or construction industry, with a specific list:
NOC 3413 – nurse assistant and patient caregiver;
NOC 4412 – Home care workers and related occupations (except for housekeepers);
NOC 7511 – transport truck driver;
NOC 7441 – residential and commercial installers and service personnel;
NOC 7521 – Heavy equipment operators (except cranes);
NOC 8431 – General farm worker;
NOC 8432 – nursery and greenhouse workers;
NOC 8611 – harvesting workers;
NOC 7611 – Helpers and workers in the construction industry;
NOC 9462 – Industrial butchers and meat knives, meat cutters, poultry preparers, and related staff.
Basic Requirements
- Income is in line with Ontario’s current wage level for that occupation and region (if you are already employed, the employer must meet the current requirements and pay the applicant a salary greater than or equal to the current salary).
- Work experience: 9 months of full-time work experience or equivalent part-time work experience in Ontario in the past 36 months. Note: Seasonal work does not meet the requirements of this project;
- Education level: A certificate of education equivalent to education or above in Canadian secondary school (high school) or above is completed;
- A valid certificate or license: a certificate or license is required if you are engaged in a profession that requires a valid certificate or license;
- Language: English or French is above CLB 4;
- Funding: There is sufficient funds or income in Ontario.
Employer Request
- The company has been established for at least 3 years (may be a company, a limited liability partnership or a sole proprietorship);
- In the most recent fiscal year, there was a total income of at least $1 million (for GTA companies in the Greater Toronto Area), or a total income of at least $500,000 (for companies outside the Greater Toronto Area);
- Provide no less than 5 full-time permanent jobs (for companies within the Greater Toronto Area) or at least 3 full-time permanent jobs (for businesses that are unexpected outside of Greater Toronto);
- There are places of business in the Ontario area where nominees will work.
