In the past few days, there really was no time to rest. The telephones in the office were repeatedly blown up. Not to mention the Education Bureau, they all wanted to change their majors. The universities must be similar. Then lawyers, chambers of commerce, and opposition party members are not idle.
These pressures eventually gathered in the immigration ministers and governors. Today, the immigration minister finally relents, intends to implement the “new policy for newcomers, the old policy of old people”, and promotes a part of “people who have already lived, studied and worked in Quebec”. The “grandfather clause” continues to act in accordance with the original regulations.
The government refused to make more concessions, and the Immigration Minister believed that immigration reform must adapt to the labor market. “We need more plumbers and welders, not just college graduates.”
Students who have not yet enrolled in vocational training can see at a glance what profession they choose.
It is unclear whether “couples need to test French” and “Québec Value Test” will affect those who have studied, lived and worked in Quebec. The specific rules of the new terms have not yet been announced. The new generation and the Quebec House will stay tuned.
