TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA INSIDE CANADA
In Canada, you only need to keep the big sign valid, you don’t need to keep the small sign valid, but if you plan to leave and return to Canada, you need a valid small sign (unless you only go to the US). For more details, please refer to the small and big sign.
According to the immigration law, only the overseas branches of the IRCC can issue small visas. Therefore, before 2012, applicants in Canada should continue to sign small visas and can only be sent in person or by post to the nearest US consulate in Canada. On May 29, 2012, the Visa Processing Center in Ottawa was established and affiliated with IRCC’s overseas branches, making it possible to renew small visas in Canada.
The domestic renewal of the small sign can be applied online or by mail. If you apply online, you will need to send your passport and letter of sign to the Ottawa sticker.
If you are in Canada, if you don’t have time to send your passport to Ottawa, you can apply for a small sign and then go back. You will receive a letter and send your passport to the Visa Center for labeling.
There is a possibility of refusal to submit a small sign outside the country, so it is strongly recommended to apply for a small sign in Canada. In case of refusal, as long as you do not leave Canada, it does not affect the validity of your identity.

- A scanned copy of the study permit or work permit, if the original has not been sent, you can also upload a letter
