How to notify the Immigration Department to change schools through MyCIC account

Policy overview

If you apply for a study permit on or after June 1, 2014, you must notify CIC via your MyCIC account when you are transferring from one designated learning institution to another, even if it is at the same level of study.
If you are thinking about changing your institution or your program, you need to ensure that you continue to meet the conditions of your study permit, as well as the conditions that allow you to work, should you wish to work during your studies.

Online application

For the application that was originally applied for MyCIC (network application, domestic renewal, etc.), go directly to the MyCIC account and find the button Transfer From DLI#
Then directly enter the previous study number (this can be found at the bottom of the welcome page), then enter the new school’s DLI # and student number, start date, and submit.

Visa submitted by the Visa Center

This is a hassle. You may even need to register a MyCIC account first, and then get the information about the previous application, but you will find that it seems that you can’t find the previous application, even if it is exactly the same as IMM1294. No.
The reason is that the visa officer thinks that your school time, funds and other information are not the same as those on your form. Your funds recorded in the CIC system can only be found through the transfer.

Since the New Deal, we have successfully helped many students transfer to China and successfully notified the Immigration Bureau.
