WORK VISA
Canadian work permits are divided into open and closed. Open work permits can work for any employer or self-employed. The employer does not need to notify the immigration office. A closed work permit can only perform designated work for a designated employer. Additional procedures are required for changing employers, changing jobs or not working.
Usually, finding a designated employer requires a labor market impact assessment LMIA to process a closed work permit. There is a world of difference between LMIA and LMIA, so you can come to Canada without finding a Canadian employer. In fact, even if there is LMIA (or exempt LMIA, or meet the conditions of an open work permit), the probability of visa refusal for overseas work permits remains high. We recommend that, like the applicants for the study, they can try to change them into domestic submissions and do not submit them abroad.
Work visas can be submitted in person or by mail at the Visa Center or online. If you apply through the web, the list will be slightly different from the table below.
Exempted LMIA’s closed work permit
In some cases, the labor market impact assessment LMIA can be exempted from closed work visas. Common ones are:
A visiting scholar,
Internal transfer of multinational companies,
Religious work (no work is required, but can be applied), or
A provincial nomination certificate has been obtained, usually with a letter of introduction from the provincial government.
Exempted LMIA’s closed work permit also requires the employer to go through the guarantee process and pay $230.
Open work permit
The following situations can apply for an open work permit directly outside Canada:
The spouse of the student or the holder of the work permit;
Work sign after graduation (there are successful cases, but the practice is controversial).
Open-ended work permits and bridge work permits for reunion immigrants cannot be applied abroad.
Great difference between success rate and fees
Once again, the refusal rate of overseas work permits is high, and applicants should try to change to domestic applications, such as applying for travel visas in advance.
The success rate of work permit applicants is in turn the overseas application (high refusal rate), border application (see applicant performance and border officer mood), and domestic application (usually no refusal, but need to meet the conditions of the domestic application).
