IMMIGRATION TO CANADA
Immigration is the process of becoming a permanent resident of Canada. After the immigration application is approved, the federal government will issue an immigrant visa. When you land in Canada with an immigrant visa, you will become a permanent resident of Canada and issue a Permanent Resident Card (Maple Leaf Card) to enjoy almost the same treatment as Canadian Citizens.
Permanent residents must have been in Canada for at least 730 days during the last five years to maintain their resident status (Obligations for Permanent Residents), and they can apply for Canadian Citizenship if they have lived for 3 years in 5 years.
